Sunday 8th March, 12-3pm, Lang Craig’s (Accessed via Overtoun House Car Park)
We’ll be celebrating International Women’s Day on Sunday 8th March from 12-3pm at Lang Craig’s Woodland. The event is free to attend and we have been working closely with 6 women’s group throughout Glasgow and further afield to put together a range of activities. As well as a mix of female lead activities on the day we’ll have some environmental organisations taking part to highlight some of the important work going on in and around Lang Craig’s to support biodiversity. This event is funded and delivered in partnership with Scottish Forestry and this will be our first International Women’s Day Event and will join thousands of other events on the same day as people celebrate International Women’s Day around the world.
On the day we’ll have a pyrography activity, a campfire, arts and crafts, outdoor play, some conservation tasks, herbal activities and some exciting surprises.
The International Women’s Day theme this year is ‘Each for Equal’ this is the description given by the International Women’s Day Organisation: An equal world is an enabled world. How will you help forge a gender equal world? Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.
In line with this theme we have chosen to celebrate ‘Women Outdoors’ and all our activities on the day will be delivered by Women who work in the area of Forestry or in the outdoor/creative industry.

Please note: This event is open to everyone, however our activities will be targetted at an adult audience and there won’t be a huge emphasis on children’s activities on the day. Although the hill’s and woodland space offer great opportunities for playing and exploring outdoors.
